CineBuddy Privacy Policy

1. Who can use CineBuddy

CineBuddy is an adults-only social network for cinema fans aged 18 to 99. It is not a dating, escort, emergency, or professional background-checking service.

2. Data that stays on your device

Preferences, calendar drafts, marathon baskets, local demo messages, hidden preview profiles, local blocks, and an optional profile photo may stay on the device.

A safety plan can contain the film, public cinema, buddy nickname, check-in time, and a trusted contact. This version does not upload that plan or send it automatically to Daniel's Creates Paris, the contact, or police. The check-in notification is local.

3. Location

With permission, CineBuddy reads location while in use to find cinemas. Coordinates are rounded to two decimal places before an OpenStreetMap Overpass request. Exact live coordinates are not stored in the member profile. A city can be selected instead.

4. Connected account data

5. Registration agreement

Registration separately asks the person to accept the Terms and Community Standards and to confirm that the Privacy and Safety Notice was read. CineBuddy records only the account ID, document versions, language, registration method, and server time. No IP address, device fingerprint, location, passport data, or message content is added to that record.

6. Reports and private messages

A live report may contain the reporting and reported account IDs, a match reference, category, the reporter's description, and report time. CineBuddy does not silently attach an entire conversation and does not routinely read every private message.

Only authorised safety reviewers may access reports. During a controlled founder-run beta, Daniel Madac may be the reviewer. A report may lead to a warning, restriction, account pause, deletion, lawful evidence preservation, or referral to a competent authority. The report queue and email are not monitored 24 hours a day.

7. Emergency control

The red control is available to every adult member. A five-second hold starts a ten-second cancel period. If not cancelled, the app opens the device's 112 call screen. The phone still asks the user to confirm.

CineBuddy does not place a silent call, dispatch police, monitor a meeting, or guarantee help. In France, use 112 for European emergency help, 17 for police/gendarmerie, or the official 114 SMS/app route when a normal voice call is not possible. 3919 is specialised support for women affected by violence, not an emergency number.

8. Identity, payment, and Watch Together

The optional CineBuddy Verified 10 web payment is live through Stripe. Stripe may process contact, device, fraud-prevention, and payment details under its privacy policy. CineBuddy stores the account ID, product, amount, currency, payment state, dates, and limited Stripe transaction references where supplied. CineBuddy never stores the full card number or security code. Native store billing is not live and the external Stripe link is not shown inside the native apps.

Certified identity is not live. CineBuddy must never store a raw passport, full document number, Face ID scan, biometric template, or passkey private key. A certified provider and exact rules must be named before identity checks start.

Watch Together may exchange room codes, playback position, chat signals, and direct connection data. Upload only media you own or may share. CineBuddy does not ask for external streaming passwords.

9. Purpose and legal basis

Account and requested social features rely mainly on contract. Optional location and photo access rely on the user's choice and consent. Abuse prevention and moderation rely on legitimate interests and legal duties. Protection in a serious emergency may rely on vital interests where legally applicable.

CineBuddy does not sell personal data, use third-party advertising, track people across apps, or make automated decisions with legal effects.

10. Providers and authorities

Necessary data may reach Supabase and, when activated, Apple, Google, OpenStreetMap Overpass, TMDB, YouTube, external streaming services, and a named certified identity provider.

Daniel's Creates Paris may cooperate with police, gendarmerie, courts, or another competent authority only for a valid legal request, legal duty, or lawful and necessary protection of vital interests. The request should be verified and only relevant data disclosed. Authorities do not have permanent access to all accounts or messages. CineBuddy has no live direct police connection.

11. Retention, deletion, and rights

Local data remains until deleted, storage is cleared, or the app is removed. Normal account data and the acceptance record remain until account deletion, except for a narrow legal need. Minimal Founder purchase and refund records may be kept for up to 10 years after the relevant accounting year where needed for accounting, tax, fraud, chargeback, or legal proof. Exact production periods for reports, moderation, security, and identity records must be approved before public stranger matching opens.

Delete an account in Account > Delete account forever, use the deletion page, or email us. Never send an identity document by normal email.

EEA users may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain use. Consent can be withdrawn. Email hello@danielscreatesparis.com. A complaint may also be made to the CNIL.
